Synopsis
Sometimes, circumstances beyond your control bring about a house move, and this was exactly what happened to Sharon and Richard Bolton. They were happily living in an idyllic spot with a 2 ½ acre paddock when an application was lodged to site an open cast coal mine next door. We needed to find something with land for the ponies and that was really more of a priority than the house! says Sharon.
It proved hard to find a suitable property, but eventually they came across a pretty, converted piggery in a lovely location that had plenty of land. Although the house was a little too small, Sharon and Richard decided to buy it and transform it to suit their needs. It was one bedroom short when we first moved in so my youngest daughter Phoebe had to sleep in the dining room! says Sharon.
