Synopsis
|
Karen Rutherford and her three children, Megan ,16, Jack 13, and Molly, 9, enjoyed holidays in Elie for nine years, staying in rental properties. Karen had always thought it would be nice to live in Elie and had tentatively been on the lookout for a family home with no success so far. When this Victorian beach front villa came on the market the family were unanimous in their decision to make a home in Elie. ‘It was an easy decision’ recalls Karen, ‘ we all loved coming here and have as many friends here as in Edinburgh. We thought we’d all feel like we were permanently on holiday!’
Karen was at a party when someone mentioned that a house on the beach was coming on the market. In 2007 property was still selling fast and at a premium. ‘We had to make a quick decision. I made some enquiries and arranged to view the house. It was perfect.’
